As a power supply module, its primary function is to provide power for industrial control systems. Additionally, it may have communication capabilities and can be used with the FCP280 baseplate. It supports non-fault-tolerant single pairs or fault-tolerant dual pairs of FCP280, as well as two copper (RH924UQ) or fiber optic (RH924WA) adapters for connection to the control network.
It can be installed in a dedicated slot on a modular DIN rail mounting baseplate. The slot is controller-keyed, so the module will not be misaligned. The FCP280 baseplate supports four HDLC fieldbuses (PIO channels):
- On a standard baseplate, Fieldbus Port 1 can be terminated via DIP switches on the baseplate, while Ports 2-4 are terminated internally on the baseplate.
- On a dual-cable baseplate, all four fieldbus port pairs (A/B) are terminated internally by default, with no need for DIP switches.
