MVME147S-1 single board computer

  • Functional Features:
    • Processor and Coprocessor: Equipped with an MC68030 microprocessor, paired with an MC68882 floating-point coprocessor, delivering strong computing capability.
    • Memory: Features shared DRAM with parity check (no parity check on MVME147SRF), and 2K×8 CMOS RAM with a backup battery to preserve data during power outages.
    • Communication Interfaces: Includes four serial ports with RS-232C buffers for serial communication. It has a Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) bus interface with a DMA channel, facilitating connections to external storage devices and more. Additionally, it is equipped with an Ethernet transceiver interface (except for MVME147SRF) for network communication, as well as a Centronics printer port.
    • Timing and Control: Comes with a battery-backed real-time clock/calendar to provide time information. It has two 16-bit tick timers for periodic interrupts and a watchdog timer, which can be used for timing control and system monitoring.
    • Bus – Related: Features VMEbus interrupter, VMEbus system controller functionality, VMEbus master interface (compatible with A32/D32, A24/D16), and VMEbus requester, enabling it to play multiple roles in VMEbus systems.
    • Others: Equipped with SCON, DUAL, FAIL, and STATUS indicator lights for easy monitoring of the module’s working status. It also has reset and abort switches for resetting the module, etc. In addition, there are four 16-bit wide ROM/PROM/EPROM sockets for installing related firmware, etc.

  • Installation and Environmental Requirements: The MVME147S-1 is a dual-height VME module, suitable for use in 32-bit VMEbus systems that use both P1 and P2 backplanes. The module can operate reliably within an inlet air temperature range of 0°C to 55°C (32°F to 131°F) under forced air cooling. Typically, an airflow of 10CFM is required to flow through the module for sufficient cooling, which can be achieved by installing an axial fan under the MVME card cage, among other methods.

  • Application Fields: The MVME147S-1 is a VMEbus controller card with high-speed data processing and computing capabilities, commonly used in industrial automation, process control, military, aerospace, and other fields. In the industrial automation field, it can serve as a core controller to implement motion control, data acquisition and processing, and other tasks; in the process control field, it can be applied to production process control in industries such as petroleum, chemical engineering, and electric power.
