Functional Features
Independent Power Supply and Induction: As part of the modular design of Woodward’s overspeed protection device, its three speed induction devices A, B, and C each have independent power supplies, allowing for thermal replacement and testing of individual devices without the need to take the prime mover offline. Three speed sensing units operate independently before hardware voting, monitoring the speed of the prime mover through a magnetic picker (MPU) and performing speed calculations separately. The final speed signal is determined using a three game two win voting method, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of the system.
