Introduction to Schneider Modicon 140 Series Modules

The Schneider Modicon 140 series modules are an important component of the Modicon Quantum automation platform, featuring high performance, modular flexibility for expansion, and redundant design. Below is a brief introduction to some common modules:
CPU module:
140CPU31110: It is a standard processor based on high-performance technology, compatible with Unity Pro software. It boasts excellent scanning time and rapid I/O acquisition capabilities, can handle interruptions, supports memory expansion via PCMCIA cards, and integrates multiple communication ports within the CPU. Diagnostics and maintenance can be conducted through the LCD display block on the front panel.
140CPU65160: Equipped with a multi-core processor, it supports millisecond-level response and can handle complex logic control and high-speed data acquisition, making it suitable for critical scenarios such as petrochemical and power systems.
Power module:
140CPS11420: The input voltage is 115V or 230V AC, with a rated power of 130VA. The output voltage is 5.1V DC. At 60°C, the independent output current is 11A, and the summable output current is 20A. It features output overvoltage and overload protection, as well as an early warning output to indicate power failure.
140CRP93200: It is a redundant power module with an input voltage of 120/230V AC or 24V DC, an output voltage of 5V DC (backplane power supply) and 24V DC (power supply for peripheral devices), and an output power of 20A (5V) + 5A (24V). It provides dual power redundancy with a switching time of < 10ms, supports hot-swappable maintenance, displays power status through LED indicators, and can read fault logs through PLC programming software.
Analog input module:
140ACI04000: It has 16 analog input channels, with an input type of differential and an input impedance of 250 ohms. The analog input resolution varies according to different current ranges, such as 0-16000 counts for 4-20mA. The insulation between each channel and the bus is 1780V AC for 60 seconds.
140ARI03010: It has 8 analog input channels with differential input type, suitable for connecting temperature probes, capable of measuring different temperature ranges from -100 to 450°C (applicable to Pt100, Pt200, Pt500, Pt1000). The analog input resolution is 13 bits, and the absolute accuracy error is 0.1°C.
Digital input module:
140DAI75300: It features 32 discrete input channels, with an input voltage of 230V AC, an input current of 8mA, and a response time of 4.9ms (on/off). It supports Modbus and Modbus Plus communication protocols, incorporates a built-in self-diagnostic function to detect faults, and can receive digital signals from external devices and convert them into signals recognizable by PLCs.
Digital output module:
140DA084000: It is an AC discrete output module with 16 discrete output channels. The discrete output voltage ranges from 20-253V AC. It supports on-off and pulse output modes and can drive various actuators, solenoid valves, and relays. The operating temperature range is from -20°C to +55°C, and the protection level is IP20.
140DDO84300: It is a DC discrete output module with 16 discrete output channels, configured into 2 groups of 8 channels each. The discrete output voltage ranges from 10 to 60V DC, with a maximum load current of 12A per module and 6A per group. The insulation between each channel and the bus is 2500Vrms DC for 1 minute.
Communication module:
140NOE77101: It is an Ethernet module that supports mainstream industrial protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP and EtherNet/IP. Through this module, 140 series PLCs can be connected to the Ethernet, enabling communication with other devices and integration into the Schneider EcoStruxure platform for cloud data analysis and predictive maintenance.
140CRP93100: It is a redundant communication module that enables long-distance communication through optical fibers. When combined with other modules, it facilitates seamless switching of the control system, ensuring “zero interruption” of critical processes.
