Product Overview: The VMIVME-5576 connects multiple VME nodes through an optical fiber network, enabling high-speed and efficient data sharing and communication. It is particularly suitable for distributed computer systems that require high data throughput and low latency.

Hardware Features: It adopts a dual Eurocard size specification, and node numbers, base addresses, etc., can be set via jumpers. It is equipped with optical fiber interfaces, usually ST/PC interfaces, and the optical fiber type is 62.5/125µm multimode. The onboard memory can be configured as 256KB to 1MB of SRAM, and 512-byte or 4KB FIFO buffers are also optional.

Operation and Configuration: Each node in the system has a unique identification number between 0 and 255, which is determined by placing jumpers on the circuit board. Software can read the node number by accessing the onboard register. If the interrupt function is used, the vector and interrupt level must be written to the onboard register and the interrupt must be set. Otherwise, the VMIVME-5576 does not require initialization.
