Basic Product Information: The VMIVME-2170A is a digital output board in the VMIC series from GE Fanuc Automation. It was originally designed and manufactured by the Industrial Automation division of General Electric, and later acquired and continued to be produced by Abaco Systems.

Hardware Features: It adopts a dual Eurocard form factor PC board. There are four 50-pin connectors behind the front panel for external connection with IP signals, and a memory chip mezzanine board can be inserted into two 40-pin connectors.
Functional Characteristics:
- Output Function: Equipped with 32 optically isolated outputs, with an output current range of 2.5 to 300 mA. It features field-configurable pull-up resistors, which require an externally applied pull-up voltage.
- Data Transmission: Provides necessary address decoding and data transmission control logic, capable of accepting 8-bit and 16-bit data transmissions, and supports two types of data transmission: monitor data and non-privileged data.
- Isolation Characteristics: Optical couplers isolate the 32 outputs from each other and from the VMEbus module, with a high isolation potential that can continuously withstand 1kV voltage and pulse voltage up to 6kV.
- Address Setting: On-board DIP switches provide 14-bit board address selection.
